Standard Beomaster 8000 Restoration Procedures
This page discusses a number of necessary restoration procedures for the Beomaster 8000. Most of these units have a number of common issues, which need to be alleviated if reliable use is to be restored.

Output Amplifiers:
Arguably the most important rebuilding procedure is the restoration of the left and right output amplifiers. In practically all Beomaster 8000s the quiescent current trimmers are corroded. If they go open circuit the output transistors will be damaged and need to be replaced.
Speaker Switches:
In most Beomaster 8000s the speaker switches are corroded. If frequent use is anticipated these switches need to be replaced. Otherwise there is a strong chance that the speakers will go silent after a switching cycle.

LED Displays:
A common failure are dead display segments, which are caused by bonding wires that disconnect from LED electrodes. The remedy for this issue is to replace all LEDs in the displays with modern surface mount devices (SMD).
Electrolytic Capacitors:
Depending on the use and storage history of the Beomaster 8000 it may be necessary to replace all electrolytic capacitors of a unit. Typical indications are leaky or cracked capacitors throughout the unit. If units are to be restored for long term use this is a highly recommended procedure.
